MOUNTAIN BIKING (aliso woods) 1:30:00 [3] 10.0 mi (6.7 mph) +1000ft

took the old schwinn out for a test ride at aliso woods. it definitely needed some tuning for next week. the group split into 2, stacy and lois fixed 2 flat tires and stayed mostly in the valley. the rest of us rode the old odc route. legs felt heavy from yesterday run but not too bad. it was good to be on the mt. bike and hung out with the gang again.

perfect day for a run, not too hot. we started from YMCA and ran a complete loop around the backbay. felt pretty good the first 5 miles. had to work for miles 6 & 7. the last 3 miles went by fast.

went for a run after work. it was hot out today, but not too bad. we started from the parking lot, ran through the rolling hills in the front and looped around on the back side, almost like a figure 8. felt pretty good during the first half, struggled a bit toward the 2nd half, resorted to walking a couple of times.

had to work most of the night again. got about 2 hours of sleep and heartburn after lunch. body was just not feeling right. i told G i would meet him for a run after work so i went. legs felt like lead right from the start. i waited for it to go away after warm up but it never did. right knee and shin bothered me with every step. note to self, need new trail running shoes. felt like crap the entire time. had to resort to walking for about 15 sec up a rather steep hill in mile 2. i knew i did poorly but was super surprised to see the heart rate shot up to 208, my all time high!
