G and I signed up for July masters and finally joined the Y.

hit the pool close to noon. did not swim hard, just long and steady. took a while to warm up. felt really good once i started the 1k. had a lane to me-self.

went on an IRC docent led ride at quail hill. bumped into gary. he was one of the guides. rode at group's pace with lots of stops. actual riding time was only 2hrs. there were some awesome networks of single tracks i've never ridden before. ate a bagel for breakfast which gave me plenty of energy for the climbs. the ride had a little bit of everything, switchbacks, awesome downhill (ridge route) and uphill singletracks, some technical sections, and a little fire road. saw a coyote, a pheasant, and a hawk. what a great day to ride, overcast, and cool.

went for a quick warm up run on the treadmill before spin. had only 20min to do it.

noon session with brenda - a mix of hill climbs and intervals. legs felt tired mid way thru but got 2nd wind the last 15min.

got to masters a little late, felt bad about it. we worked on drills the ENTIRE hour! the last 15 minutes were devoted to flips. thank god b/c i really need to work on flips.

we've had family from the east coast come stay with us for almost a month. though it was a lot of fun, i have been feeling off balanced for weeks now. they left this morning and i'm glad to have our daily routine back. is that selfish? we've been eating out tons and often late at night. i don't even want to step on the scale anymore for fear of what i would see. workout was also sporadic. i've skipped countless masters sessions. i look forward to hanging out with G and eating healthy again. summer is here and i'm starting to feel it finally.
