woke up feeling very weak today, did not have enough energy to do a longish ride in the SA mountains like planned but still wanted to ride. G later took me out to el moro for a much shorter one, just enough hills to satisfy the mind but not blow out the lungs. it was a great day to ride but there were tons of hikers everywhere.

note: the immune system was out of wack. upon return from the ride, throat felt raw from breathing in the dust. had difficulty swallowing.

had major stomach cramps last night and most of this morning, so painful i couldn't sleep. took some meds. started to feel better now. decided to can all training sessions today in the hope i will be 100% tomorrow. G and the gang are planning a longish ride for saturday, maple springs to the peak, down upper and lower HJ, and shuttle back.

legs felt tired on race pace sets but got better on longer sets. have been wanting to do a 500 for a while so stayed an extra 10min to get it in.

50 kickboard, 50, 2x50 imaginary kickboard, 2x25 ik race pace, 2x50 side kick, 2x25 sk race pace, 50 sailboat, 4x25 race pace w/ fins, 10x100 w/ fins, 200, 500, total: 2250 yards

shoes: new balance 907

had plans to go mountain biking with lois, mo, and kent but couldn't stop thinking about how bad i felt running yesterday. it wasn't so much the speed and distance that got me all worked up, it was how physically tired i was. i had to redeem myself and run again today. i wore the proper shoes this time, new balance 907, warmed up properly for 10min, felt really good at this point, then up the speed a little and kept it steady for the next 20min, than slowly decrease the speed back down. felt awesome! i'm so glad i did this. hopefully the mbking crew weren't mad at me for canceling out on them at the last minute. i don't like being a flake.

note on shoes: they were too tight at the tip. toes were numb at mile 3ish. laces were also too short.

stayed up late to get some work done, and done it was! headed to gym after 2hr meeting. had enough time to do a quick tempo run before spin. felt pretty good at first, warmed up for 5min, then up the speed to 8.34min/mile. hr went up pretty high (180) after only 3min and breathing was a bit labored. also wore the wrong shoes today, salamon amphibian. it had an adjustable heel strap which provided little support. heels felt every pounding. decided to temper off and cut the run to only 15min . note to self: need to warm up longer next time, limit to only 1 cup of coffee in the morning, and get more sleep!!

felt much better spinning than running. sweated a lot but had more energy. heart rate was lower also.

good day at the pool. signed up for june, just me-self, mo & G had to pull out. need to show up 10min earlier to warm up. carrie wants us to start at 7 on the dot.
