SWIM (Snowcreek Sports Club) 45:00 [3]

swimming at 8000 feet was quite an experience. felt winded after just 100 yard (or probably less since i wasn't sure what the length of the pool was). had to take a minute rest in between every 100. the facility was in excellent shape except for its indoor pool, which needed some maintenance. got a headache after 20min, probably due to elevation.

RUN 33:00 [3] 3.15 mi (10:29 / mi) +101ft 10:10 / mi
ahr:149 max:166 shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra

ran after swimming. started from snowcreek sc and went along old mammoth road, into snowcreek neighborhood. got lost at one point and had to ask for directions back to old mammoth. what a beautiful day, perfect weather, loved it! again, felt very winded from the elevation. had to walk some. pace was slow but happy to be out there.

SNOWBOARD (mammoth) 2:00:00 [2]
slept:8.0 shoes: burton feelgood

spring boarding, snow was much better than i had envisioned. ran into cynthia @ main lodge during breakfast. we (G, randy, jim, & cynthia) started off from the top, hoping to board the "good" snow. went down cornice, than up chair 24, down one of the chutes, repeat a couple of times, than upper dry creek, lower dry creek, and that was where it happened. randy skidded on some ice, crashed, got his elbow out of its socket, and fractured his arm. called it a day after that and hung out at the hospital. the gang continued on up the mountain. it took 3 hours for nurses & doctor to put his elbow back in order.

RUN (backbay) 27:43 [3] 3.0 mi (9:14 / mi)
ahr:162 max:176 shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra

ran the backbay with G. started from the Y. there was strong head wind on the way back. felt really good during the first half, the 2nd was a bit lagging.

STRENGTH (24 metro) 30:00 [1]
slept:8.0 weight:104lbs

stretched (much needed) and worked on upper body with weights.

CYCLING/SPIN (24 metro) 1:00:00 [3] 18.0 mi (18.0 mph)
ahr:145 max:168

went to noon session. felt strong today, probably b/c i didn't run beforehand. saved the run for after work, not 100% sure what the plan will be yet.

MOUNTAIN BIKING (Santiago Oaks) 1:20:00 [3] 7.5 mi (5.6 mph) +784ft
ahr:130 max:173 shoes: santa cruz blur

we decided to bag the run @ peters and rode santiago oaks instead. heard the vegetation & flowers were really beautiful there. my expectation was high and i wasn't disappointed. wished i had the camera with me.

made it up the 3 B's. legs and lungs felt strong. the back side was gnarly, more so than the past years. had to walk on some sections. ran into lots of riders and runners. we all queue up a few times so had to wait to pad distance between people.
