G's back was a bit sore, started the day late, got to the top of the gondola at 11am. boarded the front side a few times, then ventured over to the back bowls for a couple of runs. met the group at two elk lodge for lunch. took half hour to eat and then boarded again. found some awesome runs, i.e. airbag alley. had so much fun with G. what great way to spend valentines together. we boarded all the way to 4:14pm. awesome day. met up with the rest of the gang at george's for apres ski. left ankle started to hurt at the end of the day.

big snow dump from the night before, probably 12-15". had a lot of difficulties carving and keeping the nose of the board up, at times, down right frustrating. G was very patient and waited plenty during first half of day. we got separated at the catwalk and spent an hour or so before lunch boarding alone. we met up again at bottom of chair 21 (oriental express), took break and ate lunch at two elk lodge. 2nd half of day was amazing. G moved the bindings back by at least an inch and it helped a lot. was able to carve and felt very at ease with speed, more so than usual. the snow kept falling all day. flakes got bigger and bigger as the day went. called it a day by 3pm. legs felt surprisingly good, strong all the way to the end.

G's back was still bad. He took the day off. it was a perfect day, fresh tracks during the first hour, amazing snow, fluffly light flakes, no wind, not too cold, slightly cloudy sky. spent the entire day at the back bowls. boarded fast, no breaks, except at noon for half hour to eat lunch. left calf was burning toward end of day. called it quit at 2:30pm.

went to evening spin class, so glad i did, ashley had a harder workout than brenda. both legs and lungs felt great. there was no pain on right knee, in fact, didn't even think about it. was able to stand and spin fast for long periods. mental note: got last spin pass at 5:15. need to get to gym an hour before evening class starts {sigh}.

did limited upper body workout while waiting for spin class to start. arms felt a little sore from yesterday's workout. that's a good sign.

rained again! looking forward to spin class. heck, really looking forward to getting on mtb again. it has been too long. felt strong thru class, breathing was steady, nothing like yesterday. stood up to pedal for 4 songs. recovery was quick. legs were strong and hardy.

did a series of upper body workout. arms felt strong today, back to normal reps and weights, if not more than usual. also did 150 crunches. have been checking out the pool area at different times of day to see how occupied it is. looks like 2pm is a good time to go.

Monday Feb 8, 2010 #

parks were muddy and closed so went to 24hr metro to run on the treadmill. felt good for the first mile, kept it slow at 10mile/min. increased speed a little to 9:50 mile/min but breathing started to feel a little labored torward the end of 20min, very strange! haven't felt this way in a long while. started to walk for 3 minutes, picked up speed for 5 min. at 9:50 mile/min and increased to 9:40 mile/min for the last 5. did not walk it out after run, but went to get water instead. left knee felt a little pain.

STRENGTH 15:00 [1]

walked upstairs to lift after run. breathing was still not normal and chest felt compressed. very strange feeling. was weak and more sweaty than usual, could not lift normal weight, had to go a little lighter. after 6 sets, decided to give up and go home.
