Slow and steady as the legs didn't feel so good. Sunny but not as warm as yesterday - hands got cold when I went out walking after.

Nice warm and sunny day so agreed to meet up with Mark and Alice for a catch up run.

Ridgeway, canal, 14 locks, Bassaleg, Fox Hill, river, canal, Ridgeway.

Nice to be talking to real people again, and there is no way I would have been able to motivate myself to come over this way, or do a long run, otherwise. Still moving quite well on the way back along the canal which is good - the stops may have helped recovery, and segment times up Glasllwch and the Ridgeway were good too, despite doing the grass on the latter (first time this year it’s been nearly dry enough) as looking for Dallimores. Found them so got another bonus stop and more people to talk with!

Mostly downhill from there, with a trip into the cemetery to be in the sun not shade. Did do the sprint finish, but it was hindered somewhat by a stitch that developed in last 500m. Could have been a lot worse and stomach seemed to be behaving on the whole today. Being stop start and a lot not at high intensity didn’t really feel like I’d just done my longest run for nearly 3 months, but legs definitely stiffened up a bit after. Good to do though - need to start transitioning out of lockdown running now.

Easier day today, but the early KM splits said differently - so stuck with it until I came off the cycle path and started going uphill again. Overall made good progress - at the faster end of my runs this winter, and good if I wasn't giving it everything.

Wasn't working productively so stopped and took back some of the 3 hours I did at PC on my day off on Tuesday - and got out whilst still sunny.

Not sure if it was the daylight, or being back down to a vest, but was quite a quick run - probably the fastest I have run since the 1 hr time trial back around September time.

More of the same. Steady running but nothing fast apart from the end.

I’ve got a 5k race that I actually paid for in April (at the moment, looks good to go ahead) but really not sure I can face training for it so not sure I’ll take it seriously. Either way, it’ll be racing flats rather than wasting the expensive shoes until I’m feeling quick.

Got the day off work as have dentists at lunchtime. Slotting the run in beforehand - not overly enthused so kept it short and got it done with.

Feeling a bit better today so made it up to 10k doing the route I wanted to yesterday plus a bit. Kind of given up caring now hence the pace is slower than it has been.
