running race (trails) 1:34:00 [4]
shoes: Triumph

Not sure about the time, and the course was 9.5 not ten. Great new sections that were barely trail, so fun! More hills than the old course, but that made it more interesting.
Lots of yummy snacks (bagels, chocolate covered almonds, and a new one ... coffee-coconut chips, which are actually really nice, though I don't know about nutrition.
The race was great. Started with Bridget, running steadily for the first 6.5, then pushed a bit more for the last few miles, though still not super hard. More of a hard workout than a full race effort. Body felt remarkably good, and I am not going to be afraid of longer trail races any more! Though I guess I should wait until tomorrow to decide whether it bugged my knee or not.
Great to see other orienteers there - Olafsens (with very cute grandchild) & Coach.

Note
(rest day)

Actually had time today ... but wanted to rest for the trail race tomorrow. Not sure when the last time I ran 10 miles was ... possibly years if orienteering doesn't count. Not really going to race, just to run, though hopefully not to plod.

running (treadmill) 32:00 [2]

Short and easy to shake out some tight muscles and tendons. Need new shoes ... but the ones I just ordered came, and both pair (trail and not-trail) are too big. Different brands than my usual. Ugh. So another few weeks to wait for new ones.

running warm up/down (trails) 28:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Grey Trail

Trails, but very hard packed! Round and round the Res. About 15 warm up and about 13 cool down. Felt pretty good generally, though things tightened up. At one point Andy's Garmin said we were doing 7:20 pace, and mine said 8:30 pace ... yeah, well .... I'm thinking it was a little over 8:00.

running intervals (trails) 16:00 [4]
shoes: Hoka Grey Trail

3 x .5 mile with .25 walk/jog recovery. First speedwork in ages. Started (too?) fast 3:17. Totally messed up with the watch and no clue for the middle one. 3:24 for the last one (tight ITB). Not fast, but not appalling either considering it was the first time this season.
Ankle feels fine now, which is good.
