First run IN FOUR WEEKS! Jogging to start I wasn't sure my right ankle was even going to let me begin, but stretching calves seemed to sort it. Then I went off like an absolute novice. Meant to start steady and find comfortable pace, but got caught in early traffic and sprinted past people on the grass till I'd reached a position I couldn't maintain. Struggled after that almost all the way to the finish. Felt like I was going backwards on third lap and splits and heavy legs seemed to suggest slowest ever time, so was hugely relieved when I did stop watch on the line. That would do for my very first London 2019 training run. I did actually pass a few on the last lap too. Despite some discomfort in lower back last night there was no problem running or afterwards.
