Orienteering race 1:48:12 [5] 18.0 km (6:01 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 4.0

A good tough long distance. Finished 4th, about 3 minutes behind Chris. Some sloppy mistakes early on but my navigation definitely improved throughout.
9 PM

Orienteering (NZ Night Championships) 42:27 [3] 5.0 km (8:29 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 4.0

Started off the night race well and was with Chris all the way until 15 where I dropped off slightly. Then at 18 the control was in the wrong place and I lost about 4 min searching for it. After that it wasn't worth racing for because Chris was long gone

Orienteering race (NZ Middle Distance Champs) 35:27 [5] 5.0 km (7:05 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 4.0

Felt pretty smashed for the Middle Distance champs but pushed though it and came 2nd behind Tim. Lost some time on 7 because the control was miss-placed.

Orienteering race (NZ Sprint Championships) 14:41 [5] 3.0 km (4:54 / km)
shoes: Inov8 F-lite 195

Didn't feel very quick or fresh for the sprint but with minimal time-loss, especially in the forest, I got 2nd behind Tim. Meant I had to do a stupid drug test though, which completely ruined the day

Note

Planned to do a run as soon as we got to the house but we ended up arriving after 10 pm so that wasn't an option

Orienteering 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 3.0

Training at Rabbit Island. Started off really quick and fresh, feeling awesome, until I got about half way around the course and started noticing all the puddles of sewerage amongst the trees. Then it got pretty gross and turned into the rankest orienteering I have ever done. Once I got 2 thirds of the way around I couldn't get out of the forest quick enough and ran back to the car along the beach.
