Horrible training today. Rode out to the Port Hills to go for a ride but my bike was playing up (would have to pedal about 5 revolutions until the pedals would engage with the chain) so I decided to turn around. Coming back down the hill I changed gear and the whole wheel locked up throwing the bike to the ground with me trapped on it and dragging me across the gravel. Got some intense grazes/bruises on my ankle, knee, entire upper leg, elbow and hand, as well as the bike breaking so the gears wouldn't engage with the back wheel at all, leaving me stranded at the Port Hills with a broken bike and nothing else

Avalanche Peak race. Struggled on the hill, not used to climbing on hands and knees in a race and made it to the top in 3rd. Then tried to smash it on the downhill but it was a bit rough and kind of tricky. Passed Nick Smith to come 2nd, about 1:30 behind Chris

Pretty sloppy race at the first twilight sprint. Not reading the map enough and running past controls, then missed one out entirely so I miss-punched. Feeling the cold a bit too
