CSW #5 st Battle Hill. Came 2nd behind Jamie Stewart but won the SBE grade. 22 seconds ahead of Tim
First control was real easy, up the track and along the ridge. Came a little high but soon spotted it and dropped down. Slipped over going down the hill - dammit muddy already.
Strait across the flat to 2, up the bank to track bend. Was going to follow track past re-entrant and up the spur but it went down so i took the left hand spur and sidled round to the control.
Sidled back the way i'd come, followed the lower track past two re-entrants, through the saddle and drop into number 3.
Bitch of a climb up to 4, slow jogged around the hill, up the sharp re-entrant.
Contoured into the big re-entrant, through the green, and managed to run all the way up the hill to the clearing. followed the track in, one right bend, one left and then along the ridge to 5.
Took a bearing, picked up the re-entrant and spur and spiked number 6. North to track, down re-entrant to the same track i followed for 3. Took that along, passed Jamie Stewart, dropped over the hill and into the 7.
Slid down the hill, spotted the re-entrant for 8, ran to it and up to the control.
Came out of 8 a little slow, re adjusted and ran down the hill to 9. Would have run faster but was slipping so much because of the so little tread my shoes have. Man i cannot wait until the Orocs arrive.
Down out of 9, across the valley and up the re-entrant to 10. Sidled to the right of the hill, but i probably should have used the track going around the left side of the hill. From the ridge before the control i could see the flag for 11. Down and up the re-entrant to control, then up to the track.
Realized i wasn't running very hard, picked up the pace, passed Lauren. Followed track south, pick up one re-entrant, through the forest run and around the spur, into 12.
Down the linear marsh to the track and into 13, seeing the big spur which it was below.
Bearing to 14, picking up two spurs.
Same to 15, aiming to the left of the forest visible above the ridge.
Down the hill to finish.
