Oktoberracet Enköping (Middle)

Orienteering race 16:58 [4] ***** 2.37 km (7:10 / km)

Oktoberracet Ö5 class for the SOFT championship, which I won. Plan was to run this like a sprint but I quickly realized that the navigation was too tricky for sprint speed. Instead slowed down and concentrated on picking the controls cleanly, which I did fairly well. Lots of small hesitations but that was the nature of the course and terrain. Fun!

Orienteering 41:01 [4] ***** 4.66 km (8:48 / km)

Since the first course was so short, I ran a second Ö8 course. Idea was to try to keep up a steady pace but not really push too hard. Felt good running again but my concentration was shot. About 5-6 minutes errors on 4 controls plus another 2-3 minutes of hesitation and stops. Still fun! Great weather and fun challenge.

Was able to squeeze in a quick run between 2 SOFT meetings. Ran to the OK Enen clubhouse and back including a loop on the lighted track. Felt pretty good!

Regular F&S gym work-out. Felt strong today, probably the effect of yesterdays rest day.

Night orienteering 49:28 [4] **** 5.3 km (9:20 / km)

Rolles Night Cup #3. Felt decent running but blew up on number 2. Somehow crossed a minor trail without seeing it, ended up on a parallel trail which screwed up my attackpoint etc etc. Lost about 6-7 minutes. Need more o-practice but that's OK. Still fun and a great evening!

Had planned on running the Tyr night training set up for tonight, but a long day of travel back and forth to Stockholm, and then an evening meeting I had forgotten about, did my plan in. Almost ran anyhow, but better judgement (or was it Tone) told me a 9:30 PM start on a 10 km night-o course probably wasn't a good idea.

Easy run at Tuggelite as it was getting dark. Was quite stiff, I guess from the long run yesterday and strength training at lunch. Feel better afterwards.
