Result WRE: Cancelled (Unofficial: 5th/50 +2'39")

During the whole race I felt good but again not fast enough and not being able to push hard. I was also not so eager to fight hard and finding myself avoiding green a bit too much. Losing around 1'20" on control 14 where I did not understand the area at all. I came just 10m right from the control but saw another control in the other direction and once I got there I started panicking and running around without a clue instead of just stopping 10". Then on the way to 16 I passed at around 20-30m from where they where trying to save a runner's life. In that moment I didn't realise the seriousness and I already saw 10 people standing around him so there was no sense for me to stop. Next controls I had many hesitations and was just following compass and not reading the map at all, many thoughts were going through my mind from what I just saw, I realised it was probably more serious than I initially thought (2 ambulances and people screaming), I also didn't see who was laying there so Meri was flashing through my head few times as well. After about 5' I got myself together again and was flawless untill the finish. Could have been better but should have been alright for the WRE points I need.

Very unfortunate what happened today but it is just a fact that I, together with many others desperately need these points to get into the National team. In August a WRE win was taken away from me due to poor paper quality and now again a pretty okayish WRE race has been cancelled. Probably those 2 races would have been enough to get 3200 points on 4 races, now I probably need 2 more races in Spain or Portugal.

Easy with my dad + 2x 380m tempo at Torenhof. Best feeling I've had in 2 weeks, still not entirely confident about tomorrow but it might not be a completely lost WRE after all.

O-intervals, normal IOF map this time but outdated and much greener in real life so could not always push hard. In some places it was again only contours on which I could rely on.
