Running warm up/down (Dirt) 5:00 [3] 0.56 mi (8:56 / mi)
shoes: O-Black/Green VJ Spikes

Dumped water on head/hair/shirt before starting. It was getting hot again by ~3-4.

Orienteering race (Ditches, roads, blueberry) 1:56:30 [4] *** 13.5 km (8:38 / km) +65m 8:26 / km
spiked:10/20c shoes: O-Black/Green VJ Spikes

Long & hot (80-85, sunny & pretty humid), but I did reasonably well physically, drinking a lot, soaking my shirt, running w/o the shirt on a few long road legs. 2 GU's (start & ~33%.) Did generally good on the route choices, but had trouble with many attacks - partly due to the map being aged.

Got lost in a dark green marsh for 6-7 minutes. A bogey that bad hasn't happened in a long time. Good thing the green was only sometimes dark, and mostly medium, and the eventual relocation & recovery went well.

Details here.

Two excedrin at the finish. Two more about 3 hours later when headache started (at the beach - where I dipped in the 60 degree ocean a few times. That was a nice change from the race :) Headache stayed pretty mild for ~6 hours and went away. Angelica & I both thought I might be much worse. I think the humidity helps the headache issue.

Did push the chute in recollection of last weekend. 2nd only to Vadim on Blue.

Late at night, just to not totally lose the day for O'. Kids had a lot of fun at Dutch Wonderland all evening. Somehow Angelica & I forgot there was an Orange course right nearby in the morning. Duh...
