Orienteering race (HH CSC HEAT Brown) 1:08:57 [3] *** 11.5 km (6:00 / km) +145m 5:38 / km
shoes: VJ Irocks

Was concerned about the calves, but the rest yesterday and a decent amount of stretching seems to have done the trick.

The area consisted mainly of runnable woodland dissected by paths and blotches of dark green. the courses were set up with most of the legs being straight lines and bearing reliant. Unfortunately my bearing skills have not been up to standard recently and is definitely something to work on.

That being said was fairly happy with the run on this front although from looking at winsplits I was either running pretty slowly as I was way down early on although when James Lyne went past me with a few to go to the end I managed to dig in and keep him in sight to benefit from the tow.

Overall one of my top 3 runs this year, but would definitely benefit from more flow through controls, with visualisation of the exits and more confidence in the compass work. Oh and of course being able to run faster.

But overall happy with it and on the up.

Calves are still tight as hell - not sure I'm going to be able to run tomorrow
