Orienteering race (SLOW street O series) 59:30 [4]
shoes: adizero tempo 5

Hard work tonight - hilly course and groin playing up, so pace was way off

Might have to take a rest for a couple of days

Orienteering race (Dorking Urban Race) 47:35 [4] *** 6.26 mi (7:36 / mi)
shoes: adizero tempo 5

Still full of cold and aching legs so went out to run steady and try and maintain focus/reduce errors.

Achieved aim fairly well, with only 1 proper error (ran into wrong dead end) and upon relection 1 poor route choice - cost approx 1 min and 30secs on dead end.

Main issue was speed and looking at splits fumbled a few, looking forward to route gadget - just about held evan off (by 16 secs) and took top SLOW honours on the day - I'll take that.

Orienteering race (MPremier British Champs ) 49:18 [4] 6.7 km (7:21 / km) +255m 6:11 / km
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Leg 3 in Team 3 with Ollie and Evan

Went off behind the masses 20 seconds down on Richard Barrett from Swansea Bay and played swap the lead until #12 where I completely cocked up and dropped 3 min.

After this I struggled to maintain pace and concentration wasn't what it was - still solid ish run and hope for the future.

Orienteering race (British Champs M21S) 1:05:34 [4] *** 8.4 km (7:48 / km)
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Dropped down to the short due to the groin injury still playing up.

Finished 2nd overall on course 8 so acceptable, won a few legs but was off from 1st from the off.

Dropped 1min on control 1 just not focussed really simple path option into control but just went direct through crap terrain while losing touch with the map!

Bit hesitant to #6 dropped 30 secs

Lost a min on #7 although still 2nd fastest leg - but a much much better route to the south could easily have made up a min here

#10 and #11 just lost focus and 3min!!!!!!!

So all in all 6min down on the lead but 5.30 min of errors at least!

If I wasn't injured I probably could have run a bit faster too - still I'll be running elite in future I think.

Was just right for current fitness today though
