Orienteering race (JK Trophy ) 29:27 [5] ** 5.2 km (5:40 / km) +245m 4:35 / km
17c shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

So as normal felt the self induced pressure of the relay, more so as this year my first leg runner was Erik who just won JWOC.... But actually being in the SLOW 3rd team wasn't all that bad actually.

Erik came in, in 4th place in a pack - gulp so I was off with the fast boys, held the pace ok upto the first control, nip and tuck with Marcus Pinker, unfortunately he was on a different gaffle and did more to put me off than help me...

Poor route choice to one and bein completely loose to 2 (think I visited all the controls in that area) got it together after that and ran pretty consistently after that.

Brought the team in 11th (not much in it) holding off the SLOW 1st team still and Ian then brought us home in 13th overall, pretty respectable really.

More technical training would help and better concentration...

Finally managed to focus long enough to churn out the 20 miler. Got an early start for this one and glad I did as weather has now deteriorated.

Was lush out along the river and ran up to Richmond and back, joined in with the Richmond half marathon for a bit which was a mistake as when I hit the 10 mile point I had hordes of punter runners behind me...

Glad I got it done even if pace was pretty poor

Event: JK 2013

Orienteering race (JK2013Sprint) 16:41 [5] 5.0 km (3:20 / km)
shoes: adizero tempo 5

Turned out to be a pretty lush day in comparison to recently and spirits were high, went for the spray on vest and porn shorts in traditional sprint/urban race style and as the sun put in a brief apeparance while I was out there I was grateful for the choice.

All in all a pretty non technical course and ran it fairly well, legs were heavy but thats to be expected after the milage that I've been doing this year (well in comparison to normal anyway) and so not that zippy (might have helped my overall map reading.

So even more annoying that I dropped around 41 seconds on No.8 through just not concentrating and skirting round the wrong side of the building, but all in all looking at the splits I managed my top 50 position (49th) and just pipping timmeo (1 second) through just being consistent and not droppign too much time throughout as non of my legs were particularly fast.

Enjoyed bring on the Southerns and the British
