Note
(sick)

Now I understand why I was feeling sluggish yesterday - woke up this morning with a pounding head and a sore throat, so basically spent the day in bed trying to shift it rather than going racing.

Orienteering race (Oxford city race) 1:05:02 [5] ***
shoes: Sauconys Guide 4s

Good well planned race, different to your normal city race - with a fast and furious park race style start, bouncing around the park before shooting out into the city.

Fairl clean throughout I suppose but with 47 controls even a minor hesitation on each control is going to mount up. Lost major time at 7 and couldn't find the entrance into 40 dropping a minute then picked a poor route put to 45 losing another 20 seconds, so lost significant time in the final stages.

Felt sluggish throughout

Note

Top 20 finish so should be happy with that, beat Matthias but should have been easily top 15.

Running 23:29 [3] 3.2 mi (7:20 / mi)
shoes: Sauconys Guide 4s

Struggled in today but glad I did it.

passed a group of 'yummy mummies' goign the other way witha group of about 10 - 9yr olds running the other way, all the kids looked like they were loving their early morning run - cracking stuff.

Orienteering 31:50 [5] **

Street o burn up as much as you could cover in 30min, covered the same as Ludovic and Ed but cam in a bit down onn them, all over 30 though - good hard running - need to sustain the pace better throughout as slowed in the final 10 before picking up for a proper burn in for the last 4.

Orienteering 24:58 [3] *****

A no feature follow the bearing course - mad emore difficult by hitting barriers all over the place - would have been better with some form of control discriptions rather than hunting around once you 'guessed' you were in the right area. Helped by linking up with Ludovic and hunting once we felt we were there.

Interesting exercise though
