Fun times at the Giants Rib Raid racing with wokitoki and Hansel. Unfortunately the nagging achilles kept Hermes out of our line-up but we were happy to have Scotty join the mix, fresh off a stellar Around the Bay.

Wokitoki led the navigation for most of the race and as I suspected I was working very hard to keep up in the bush; roads were a bit more welcome reprieve.

Our intended strategy was good but unfortunately we forgot about it as we took the east side of Palgrave CA first giving us a bit of extra running. We then went over to the west side and the bonus map area before back to Albion and able to clear with a bit of time to spare.

Despite the ongoing shit April weather and temps colder than the snowshoe raid I really enjoyed the race. Bender and Mark devised fantastic route options throughout, both within sections and between sections, we pretty much ran on our own for the entire race. We had a few minor bobbles but generally very clean thanks to Chads navigation. Scott and Chad were physically very solid and I think we worked really well as a team, with everyone contributing. It was great seeing the rest of the racing crew and volunteers.

Now we just need some better weather so I can visit here again... but on my MTB.

Suunto accidentally paused so added a bit of distance and climbing as per DD11 stats.
