Orienteering - easy 47:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 Oroc 280 May 2019

Middle training at Sklleborg, plus a bit of a jog up to the start. Started easy breaking in my other new shoes, felt fine after half the course so some with a little bit more gas after that. Two main mistakes, after the start (again!) and after a little pause, something to work on next time...

Very pleased with my foot these first sessions. still a day off it tomorrow but hopefully can be a little more daring later in the camp.

Orienteering - medium intervals 50:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 X Talon 210 May 2019

Guttersröd. Long intervals on 1:15. post travel feeling, this only just made an i3! Maybe i can run a bit of the training tomorrow hard instead. Putting the orienteering first at least, but i wasn't always holding the straight lines i wanted. one bigger miss toopen with, after that better but not always picking up the right detail. feel like i would have done a much better job on 1:10 so good to take the chance to practice on this scale.

can feel the difference footwise compared to last time i was here when i wouldnt have been able to do this session.

Orienteering - hard race 33:00 [4]
shoes: Inov-8 X Talon 210 May 2019

BOC relay leg 3

Nice position going out after Kim and Mary made the job fairly straightforward on paper but it was one of those stressy areas. Not so good legs on today but if i want to get properly race fit again i need to push hard on days like this. worked well through first half but then quite a convoluted bit after that and i had trouble keeping touch. a bit hesitant and lost some of the rhythm (saw Spongey having the same kind of time which stopped me getting too stressed about it haha!) and then one bigger mistake where i let the thicket mapping get to me a bit (there wasnt the wall of impenetrable stuff to follow that i imagined from the map and i overshot). about a minute. again it could have been much worse, there were plenty of people looking quite lost, managed to sort it out without panicking so it was better than tio in that respect.

actually quite enjoyed the last running bit, i was alone and had to try to make myself push round the easy controls, it was like the end of a woc long distance. and we could bring home the trophy! trying to work out how many times the household has won it. can't remember if i was in any of the CLOK or EUOC teams.
