Orienteering - hard race 1:03:00 [4]

SM relay. I ran leg 1and it went pretty much how id guess. Im just so out of balance between speed and technical confidence at that speed. I could have just run in the train and had a much easier ride but i kept doing it all the hard way. I was very lucky they were always there to sweep me back up. It did an okay job for the team but theres so much work to do over the winter. Hopefully can enjoy the coming races before then without just generating frustration!

13th place with the team, cool! Great to be so near a top 10 when we still have some room for improvement. Pleased i kept fighting hard for them (always hard not to be demoralised when you make a mistake and other teams overtake!) and Tove and Louise carried it on well :-) next up 25manna!

i think the last remnant of the cold - i'm normally better in the second session of the day anyway but this morning i was half dead! hardly got going at all. didnt help that my lines went through some heavy marshes (good that i took some of the breaks here though, cos there were still some good berries to forage)

Control pick in Svartvik, but this time with controls out - full size too, brill! :-) really enjoyed this and going fine, i think moving faster than this morning for lower effort (maybe says something about Vissätra though...) going mostly well with the orienteering, light slowly fading and it showed i wasnt adapting so well in the middle bit, but got it back together for the end. overall good feeling.

Decided i should join an athletics club here if i want to keep pushing myself hard in running sessions - so much easier with a group! Finally made it along to a Spårvägen session. Tuesday is tempo training - 8km lower end of threshold, which i thought i might be able to manage today. Then 4x uphill strides. Not too bad feeling when running but aware im an idiot for training when im still on the back end of this illness. Rest tomorrow! Or at least half a day.

had a nap and feeling increasingly normal, so went for some easy pace compass practice at Svartvik. really enjoyed it tonight, happy just to take it easy for once. got a bit distracted a couple of times but at least listened to the warning bells before i did anything too bad.
