Orienteering - hard race 1:09:00 [4]
shoes: Inov-8 XTalon 212 April 2017

One last run at the 6 days... Bit of the glutes/hamstrings doms from yesterday and maybe a bit less juice in the hill climbing tank, but not feeling too bad. Missed a lot again though, quite a few bigger mistakes. Need to get out of holiday mode and back to work now! At least enjoyed my run and the course. Long journey home still going on...

Running - easy long 2:51:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 XTalon 212 Oct 2016

Long run in to the Ben Avon summits from bridge of Dee. Except the clag came in 100m below the tops and i only made it to the south top - big drop into the corries and i just dont back myself enough when theres no path to follow, even with a map and compass. no summit views, nicest bits were the run in and out (back down through glen quoich to finish at braemar). And had it all to myself, saw no one at all after leaving the estate.

Trying to fit in with family plans, from just past Dufftown to Glenlivet up and over meikle conval and then ben rinnes (841m). A bit flat and stressed so just engaged bottom gear up the climbs, some good weather to stop and watch too.

Easy jogging and drills

Orienteering - hard 45:00 [4]
shoes: Inov-8 XTalon 212 April 2017

Absolute farce on the Middle. Almost one i have to log as running rather than orienteering, happy with maybe 3 legs on the course, the rest i was having big problems. Kept running as hard as i could all the way, really enjoying pushing hard, but so blasé about where im going. Had to laugh when i finished but also fair raging about it. At least a bit more time to find some orienteering chill and stop fighting so hard against the forest before WC.

Running - easy warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 XTalon 212 April 2017

Still feeling strong and full of energy tho

Orienteering - hard race 57:00 [4]
shoes: Inov-8 XTalon 212 April 2017

Much more manageable forest today, especially cos i had the last start and a motorway to follow most of the way round, really big advantage over anyone starting early. Still managed a huge miss to the third control and ran past 5. A couple of other minor things too, but really enjoyed being able to open out and run a bit more. Should look at my compass too...

Running - easy 33:00 [2]
shoes: Saucony Kinvara - April 2017

Completely neglected a warm down in favour of getting straight off (we'd been there all day and it was a bit of a trip back to the house) so went from there after another coffee. Castle, past the nordic ski centre (!) and along the river. Loads of other people out running. Still v much warm down pace.
