Orienteering - hard race 32:00 [4]

25manna, i had leg 1. mainly stable, had a plan and followed it, excellent! managed to fall hard to 1, not too bad but adrenaline kick then everyone suddenly running past everywhere when i got up, a bit stressed and lost 45s(?) with checking wrong gaffle then bad route on exit. really hard fight to try and get back with the lead pack, they were moving quickly and i was on my own for the second half, sometimes able to see them ahead but not use them effectively. almost managed it, just caught the tail of the long string by the end. maybe would have done if a better day physically? not often i feel sick at the finish but certainly did today. felt (and looked, i heard...) more laboured than normal. early race, still regaining fitness after summer, random daily dip, knock on effect of under-eating at the beginning of the week or something else? will monitor when away in next week but some easier days now. relaxing and enjoying Scotland! so excited :-D
