urgh i cant remember ever struggling so much on an easy run! home-RHB on the cinder track, then a bit further, then down to Boggle Hole and back along the cliffs. some short, fierce climbs. there is something wrong with my gluts/top of hamstrings and i cant lift my legs easily. every step was hard work, right from the beginning. also started in full tights and long sleeved thermal, then the sun came out so i was quite overheated. not quite sure what to do about the pain but it's worst when im sitting down so i think it might be back related?

easing back into some proper training, but something little less physically and mentally tough than long intervals. 30x 30/30s, much of it on slight upward incline. we have a sea fret so lots of clothes to get the warm weather feeling. felt sick from everything smelling like cow sht and running past sewage works but speed quite good considering. hamstrings tight and tired, calves better.

small morning jog. some improvement! better feeling generally, not so tired any more. legs just need a lot of stretching/rolling/massage to feel better now.

finally back in Whitby after Lucy's graduation, involving hanging about in the heat, waiting, big lunch with much champagne then the long drive home. dusky run, mixture of roads and paths.

finally got out for a run, more just to enjoy the sun really. i really am a bit wrecked atm. amazing how i got myself to run well when i wanted then as soon as it's over am completely worn out.

calves too tight for intervals run #2. easy round and about, still feeling like quite hard work in the heat. slept lots last night, good recovering :-)

Back in the UK! Along the river from my sister's house at Trent Bridge. tight calves but otherwise okay.

had wanted to do intervals but my calves were way too tight! so it was just another easier run. feeling quite tired generally, needing some time to recover from the last week. at least it's warm enough to feel like okay training for Colombia
