Running - easy long 1:50:00 [1]

aim was to get some sun, Hittaut points and hills. succeeded at all these. quite hot, tough at the end as i didnt have any water with me.

edit: it must be warmer than 16?! otherwise have my work cut out preparing for WUOC...

Orienteering - hard intervals 30:00 [4]

Sprintervals, Ulleråker. Linne training from some weeks ago that i only just got round to. Good, thinking ahead a lot and in control more than i have been recently in Sprint. Threshold pace and on my own so i didnt push too hard. Even so, feeling tired after 4 of the 6 (stuffy afternoon and had been asleep beforehand), so easy round interval 5. Forest a bit minging now.

Friday non-running training. Long intervals, but kept getting distracted and not pushing so hard. Looking forwards to proper intervals tomorrow.

Linne training, Fjällnora. About as expected after today, a bit tired in my head - maybe not the best day to run on a rough area with an old map. massive mistake to first control, then took it easy apart from running hard on the track for the rest (also cut back early!). small moment of redemption when finding 2nd start when the boys' pack got it wrong :-)

Note

WOC selections out and i am running Sprint, Long and Relay. This is exciting - between this and WUOC i have every distance to prepare for! Some training now, then Jukola, World Cup, WUOC, WOC. Busy. Will have to plan carefully to avoid getting too tired, sick or injured before the end, and every training will have to count. A nice challenge :-)

Morning jog, last time up the road from Braemar. Lovely and sunny :-) Quick chat to Dave Rollins who was driving back to Braemar.

Orienteering - hard race (Middle distance) 32:00 [5]

WOC test Middle. Really really pleased with this, the best Middle race i've run. Still some legs i'm not happy with, bad direction when running with others, and some where i think i got away with bad or incomplete plans. But still better than anything i've done before, and good to do it today when it mattered.

Tired but tried to push as best i could. Not any huge speed but i think more important to stay in control.

Before this i was pretty sure i didnt want the Middle, now i'm not sure. Sure that i can't run all three distances at WOC given how tired EOC made me. Very lucky to be in this position!

Megalate morning jog. Moving better, able to do some strides, but not feeling good - heavy head and like i'm getting sick. but this is quite normal for me before a race so hopefully with some food and coffee i should be okay to race well this evening.

Orienteering - hard race 20:40 [5]
shoes: Walsh PB racer (Jan 12)

WOC trial Sprint. feeling good by this afternoon again, and in the right frame of mind - a bit nervous but not too much. didnt get map back after but remember having some dippy moments, lapsing concentration (most of all at map exchange, again) and running back to a control to check i'd punched.

even so, nothing i could have done to run as fast as Tess! Pleased with how it went :-)
