Model area for EOC. Not good. Missing all the time, no matter how hard i was trying. i think i was trying too hard. not feeling good after this :-(

Wanting to run a bit better so went for second training. A bit better, at least getting over half controls okay now. No orienteering tomorrow i think.

Note

not looking after Ankle properly at Tio >>> inflammation round tendon on back of ankle bone. worried about this, quite close to achilles, even though fine to run. so blagged visit to Finnish team doctor to check it. it should be okay if i strap it. also confirmed i have 'nicer feet than ice hockey players'. good. :-)

EOC training. 'Speed adaptation', did not read this on map before running and did not adapt speed v well. fine for a while but then a complete mess and had to bail out. at least it wasnt a race...

v easy, out round Gottsunda for some Hittaut points. still feeling flat, took halfway round to feel like i was moving properly. never taken so long to recover from a race before but tbh i wasnt so sensible the whole weekend or afterwards, my own fault. regret is a strong word but a Gainomax and half a pack of Gifflar instead of dinner after i ran, followed by 1hour sleep, was probably not the best idea i ever had.

Nice walk down town and fika, relaxed and thinking the gym would be open past 7. Sadly not in Sweden on a Friday night. Some exercises at home instead, but had also been keen for some cross trainer intervals. Will be more organised when routine set up properly, but im sure the extra rest didnt do much harm. will have a look if things are open early tomorrow but that might be a bit optimistic...!

Linne training at Vänga. This was not nice. still not feeling quite back to normal and the terrain was quite physical and didn't help. trying to push too hard and not really concentrating on the orienteering, so made a complete mess of the course! also it rained. just one of those days.

urgh i did NOT want to get up at 5.30 this morning. but i wanted to train before work, so i had to. lucky im not in the office for a while now :-)

So so tired. commuting is not agreeing with me, adding 3hours to my day, as i am too stubborn to do less training to allow for it. turns out im wanted in the office more than i though as im still learning what im doing. have negociated work from home for tomorrow though, so time to get resting a bit more before EOC. also ankle not feeling brill after Tio. Poor body. am enforcing rest morning tomorrow. will do some stretching, standing on one leg and geeking instead.

Linne training at Stenhagen, with SI. Great sprint area, mix of forest and houses. mistakes came from slips of concentration, when i had my head in it it was fine but as usual after a long day i was easily distracted. one fairly massive one (17). worked hard, so did what i wanted, even though i felt like i was carrying a sack of bricks round with me!

Aquarunning - hard intervals 25:00 [3]

change of plan from O-intervals after finding we have Linne O training tomorrow and Thursday eve, i think 3 hard sessions in 3 days might be too much when still recovering a bit from Tio (needed snooze this morning, doesnt happen often). So hard training in the pool instead. mixed intervals, 40mins of 2lengths/30s, 45/15s, 30s/1 length. good.

Nåsten, ran the O-intervals but at an easy pace, so it was like a control pick. Includes running to forest and back. Cake after at Linne Tiomila celebration :-)

before work. have become unused to this again, so no intervals. quite hard work just going steady.

Linne jympa. Good! Quite like Wdnesday morning gym in Edinburgh, and something i should be doing more of. ankle a bit sore on some of the jumps, so didnt quite do everything.

to and from jympa (not far at all), some drills, then in Stadsskogen to pick up first Hittaut.nu points. tired. think i will pick up tomorrow tho
