Morning jog round town. Something went wrong with my eating yesterday, seemed to eat LOADS but still awake hungry really early. Felt like i was floating, nice but but so sure it's good for you.

Orienteering - hard race 56:00 [5] 7.8 km (7:11 / km)

Smålandskavlen, a last leg run for OK Linne 2. Frustrated with myself, not sure how body would feel so started hard (too hard, made small misses round the first bit of the course, then got tired later and struggled to keep with the pack, making more small mistakes as my brain got tired too).

Some legs where it was working though, at least planning properly on these. And I think i would have been quite happy with this run a year ago. At least i'm enjoying training, so time to really start working hard for next year now.

Already feeling quite warmed up from earlier, did usual thing of having a massive 'gonna be late' panic, rushing to the changeover pen and then waiting about for ages. Luckily it wasn't cold today :-)

control picking, found short legs hardest to simplify properly on Wednesday so made lots of these to do. Concentration broke early on when i met a man with a gun, forgot it was elk hunting time. lucky i dont look much like an elk and was next to the edge of where they were shooting so could carry on for most of what i planned. once i recovered from that it went quite well again :-)

A nice training for an easy Friday. Mixture of aerobic stuff, core stuff and dynamic strength stuff. felt lots easier than it used to, i hope it's cos i'm stronger. will see if i get the same heavy legs tomorrow as this time last year.

Quick jog from Linnegården. Arrived late last night but got up early - my hosts, Hanna and Klara, had to go to work.

Nåsten. Lovely to be back in the forest again. Made a big effort with the planning and felt like a completely different orienteer to the one i had been all Spring. I still made littler mistakes and wasn't very fluent, a long way to go, but so much better than before, when I spiked controls it felt like it was from orienteering well rather than just being lucky :-D

Hevy going, lots of water in the marshes and chilly autumn temperature. Terain running a bit unstable, i think cos i havent been pool running (it really did help stability). No more excuses, back in the pool as soon as i get near one of those floaty belt things.

Bad night's sleep, kept hearing weird noises. I think we have mice :-/

Alternative training intervals (spinning bike) 20:00 [3]

16x30/30sec. Will switch to rowing machines for this when i have some more strength in my shoulder but atm cant really work hard enough for it to be an effective aerobic training.

Short easy week intervals, back down to 2x2km and 2x1km. Not pushing too hard on 2k's, felt quite easy :-O 1k's seemed more like hard work, as usual, but think i'm starting to get more used to running this pace. need to do so much work on my technique though...!

Circuit at CSE, lots of jumping about. feel like i'm moving a bit better and am a bit more flexible. was going to run treadmill test as warm up but Steve wanted us to get on with S&C straight away, will fit it in tonight instead.

i think this week will turn out to have not so much training, am finishing off projects for uni, travelling and then have Smålandskavlen at the weekend. But it's been a few weeks of running more and running harder than I ever have done in training before so i don't think it will do any harm.

4x4 treadmill test, plus running a bit to and from the gym
HR jumping about, but it worked out roughly:
140 = 9.7
150 = 10.6
160 = 11.6
170 = 12.9
all on the flat. no idea if that's good/bad/average but will see if it changes.

Alternative training (cross-trainer) 40:00 [2]

going ahead and having my easy week now, it was supposed to be next week but i dont think i could do another week that hard without getting worn out or sick. so some more alternative training.
