slept:9.5 shoes: Adidas Supernova Glide (Dec 10

Round and through Holyrood Park, down the Innocent railway for a bit, then back over to run about on Craigmillar, back through Newington and round on the Meadows. Mostly easy, some hill sprints and strides.

Need to start taking a drink with me, feeling dead thirsty and had to make a stop at Cameron Toll for some juice.

Note

today's appointments:

1. Podiatrist. Glued heel raise i had been using onto bottom of insole, will see if it stays (no time to send insoles to labs just now).

2. Doctor. Bit of a fail at blood test, turns out i had to book yet another appointment for that and there isn't one til after i get back from running about in northern europe. annoying, but did say i 'didnt look ill', that will have to do for now.
7 AM

Running - easy 32:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas Supernova Glide (Dec 10

trying out using a heel raise in r. shoe before i get to see the podiatrist. seemed okay. concentrating on running technique, finishing at CSE to roll out and stretch hip flexors.

it's getting cold...
6 PM

Running - hard tempo 16:32 [4]
shoes: Walsh PB racer (Sept 11)

was thinking it might have to be an easier run, my hamstrings are still so tired from Tuesday, but once we started i couldnt help but work hard. not feeling so springy on the flat as last time but ran the hill much much better (helped to have Claire infront, trying not to let her disappear too quickly!) V happy to beat my time by 20s, will enjoy it while it lasts as i dont think i could do it 20s faster next time :-)

Running - easy warm up/down 25:00 [1]
shoes: Walsh PB racer (Sept 11)

mainly jogging from home and back, a few drills

Note

Today's meetings:
1. With Toni, discussing where i'm at with training and racing, strengths and weaknesses. it's all about confidence, plans and the 95% rule. also got a new watch and HRM, all free :-O Nice!

2. Physio about my hip. Found what i'd thought for ages but no physio has ever agreed with, i think they just thought it was from a jammed up SI joint: left leg about 1cm longer than right leg. so all the problems i've had with it might be fixed from just having an extra raise on my orthothics. Will chat to podiatrist about it. Released SI joint and given hip flexor stretches.

3. Doctor about shoulder. will get a more extensive list of stuff to do to help it from next physio appointment. should be able to get it better without surgery :-) Also, booked in to GP for blood test to check i'm not depleted of anything.

Running - easy long 1:30:00 [1]

Pentlands with the girls and Toni. Long, easy terrain run with some hill and terrain sprints too. Tired legs, might have to do some alternative training tomorrow but will see how they feel when i wake up.

Running - easy 40:00 [1]
shoes: Walsh PB racer (Sept 11)

on the grass (mud) today. back a bit sore.

S&C (core ) 15:00 [1]

just basic stability things. i think i need to do more of this, it's maybe why my back isnt feeling the best.
6 PM

Running - hard intervals 32:00 [4]
shoes: Adidas Supernova Glide (Dec 10

yes! some faster running after a few slower days :-) full session today as well, more than i thought i would be able to do. 2x2km, 4x1km. ran with Jo, running much better than last week, not as fast on the 2km's so able to go faster on the 1km's.

i dont know if you can ever call intervals fun but i loved running with the others and getting to know how far i can push myself. might be sore tomorrow but already looking forwards to next week. geek.

Running - easy warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: Adidas Supernova Glide (Dec 10

jogging, thorough set of drills tonight. noticed my r. hip still not feeling right when i hop on it. it didnt react to anything in last week's screening and is fine to run but i will get to FASIC about it to see what's going on there now...
