making the tracks today! v low spike rate, just not paying enough attention to my map or compass and way too much attention to trying to run faster. it's a confidence thing (not at all confident in my running fitness) and it needs work!
but i enjoyed it, especially the easy track legs :-O

found a possible contributor to poor terrain running though: have worn down walshes so much there are no studs at all left on the front of the shoes. oops! no wonder i'm slipping and falling over everywhere. will get my icebugs on until the student loan comes through...!

uh-oh, what happened to my terrain running?! not feeling like i'm moving too well over the rough stuff (plenty of this today). but should have expected that. did plan to run this as intervals but it was hard enough work to keep running at all on the heather. gonna be sore tomorrow!

frustratingly, making the same kind of mistakes as i have been doing for a long time, plus one place where the map just didn't seem to match up and ran back a while to double-check. probs my fault for not being enough on the ball, but could maybe have some words with surveyor (dad)...

feeling so lazy for not training today! but at least i will be itching to run again tomorrow, hopefully will have my bounce back, especially for orienteering for the first time in aaggeess, time to get back into it after the break :-D

intervals later this week again, and didn't think 3 times in a week was the best idea just yet. so jogged out from home, went through loads of drills and then 3x short hill, trying to run lightly and springy on the way up and strong and quick off the top. then jog home.

resting legs a bit. at the gym, avoiding downhills (where i'm not really doing anything) having to stop to open gates all the time and getting in the way of everyone walking and cycling on the cycle path

2x 4/3/2/1min with 1 min jog between, 5 min jog between sets. undulating grass.

more intervals :-O not feeling so fast but just going for a consistent speed and good technique, legs still a bit heavy but certainly better than yesterday. might start to feel like a proper runner soon if this carries on! :-D

not intervals i'd wanted :-( legs still really sore from saturday (why? i was only using my own bodyweight, maybe im fatter than i thought...) even after walking over there and warming up. oh well, i guess i just need some extra rest. hope to be fine for some intervals tomorrow!
