Note
(sick)

Still not quite right, even after going to bed at 8.30 last night! Travelling again. Will try to avoid so much travelling to races in future, more tiring than i used to think.

We have teams for 10mila now, exciting! After my umm 'mixed' races this spring am feeling lucky to be on team 3. Nice last leg anyway, hopefully means chasing down lots of other teams :-)

Orienteering - hard race (long distance) 45:30 [5]
shoes: Walsh PB racer Feb 11

JK long. Nope, not any better today. Same as yesterday, no bounce in my legs, could see Helen ahead by 3 but just couldn't get past. Really unusual, normally good at racing like that. Running really weakly on all the hills, not feeling like a race at all, and decided it wasn't worth running the last loop. Feeling like im getting a sore throat or something afterwards, which would help explain it. So no relay tomorrow, just some rest and travelling.

Disappointed with this weekend, but if i felt good in my legs just two weeks ago it shouldnt be too hard to get that feeling back with a few days taking it easy.

Orienteering - hard race (middle distance) 41:51 [5]
shoes: Walsh PB racer Feb 11

JK middle. Had hoped to feel better on terrain but had nothing of the bouncy feeling in my legs from two weeks ago. Caught Toni at 4 when we both made a mistake but just couldn't get past, which made me feel crap and the worse i felt the worse i ran, ended up so tired i could hardly warm down! Orienteering mostly in control, 24 controls and about 20 were clean. Still lost about 4 mins apart from time lost through running slow, 1 of which was stopping to try and 'pull myself together'. So not such a happy Easter bunny. Think the problems are that my legs are a bit tired from suddenly switching my training to lots more hard running and orienteering the past three weeks and just not having much confidence in myself! Oh well, i guess there will be plenty of other races.

Orienteering - hard race 14:19 [5] 2.1 km (6:49 / km)
shoes: Walsh PB racer Feb 11

JK Sprint. No map back yet, will have to look closely at the splits again. Really tricky, hard to think ahead all the way round - 2.1km course with 24 controls! So lots of hesitating, but managed not to make any big mistakes. Let down a bit by my fitness again though, it felt like running through treacle for the second half! Just could not push myself like i wanted to. But not much i can do about that apart from being able to run more intervals on even ground or on the track. 30s down on Sarah and Pippa, so better than last year, and finally starting to get over fear / dislike of sprints :-)
