Really tired today, catching up with myself a bit. So just an easy run from home to help recover. Quads are really heavy but surprisingly my blisters weren't a problem in running shoes :-) Could feel my shins again though, i think a reaction to yesterday cos they were fine when i was training last night. So they should be okay again quickly but will do my long training in the pool tomorrow - we were chatting yesterday about how long we still have til summer, so there's no point i pushing any niggles if it might mean missing more training later on.

Sat out this morning's skiing, don't want to be unable to run next week because of my blisters. Was just going to go for an easy run but Rasa thought that the best way to end the weekend would be jympa, so went along with her and Mari. Even though i hadn't got in much skiing it felt TOUGH today!

The last two weeks i have trained hard, next week will be an easier week, not least cos i have tonnes of uni work to catch up on.

Not that successful today. Tried my best to patch myself up with compeed and then tape over that but only got halfway through my planned long training when it was just hurting too much to continue. So the rest of the day was off my feet infront of the tv :-(

Shins still not perfect :-( Think i pushed them a bit hard on Tues, sometimes i was enjoying the faster pace a little too much for them. Will make myself take it easy next week. Really want to run intervals but it's more important to keep healthy i guess. Also feeling quite tired generally this morning, luckily i have a nice long car journey this eve to get in some extra sleep :-)

A group of us ran on tracks between the 14km and 18km loops to keep out of the really deep snow. It was really tough to run in cos you couldn't tell which bits were hard and which bits you would sink into. Some bits were a little bit faster than others. Ran an extra loop at the end to make for a longer time.

Feeling mostly okay tonight, but my back was a bit tired from carrying my huge bag of training stuff round all day. Can feel my shins a bit now too, so definitely easy day time tomorrow.

18 times up the 'usual' hill. The reps were just under a minute tonight :-) Maybe the conditions were better today (still kinda slippy though) and i guess not doing circuits this morning helped but i hope its cos my training has been working! Reeaaaalllyyy want a longer hill but if i went somewhere cross town it would mean cycling there and back, which takes time, energy and isn't great when it's cold. Felt lighter and bouncy tonight.

Easy day today, but ended up racing skiers for some of it. Really pleased with training this week, just have to keep being careful with my shins. Next wee will be a bit mixed up, suddenly have loads of uni work but am away XC skiing for a few days too :-)

It snowed a teeny bit but not enough to make the ground soft, and i thought running intervals on top of yesterday might be pushing my luck a bit. So back to Fyrishov. 5x6min/2min and then 6x1min/30s. "Running" really well this morning :-) Hopefully back to running some on the ground next week!

From home. Everywhere is like an ice rink still! Might as well have worn shoes with metal, there was nowhere soft to run. Fell over a few times, it wasa actually kinda dangerous in some places! Not sure if it was the best idea to do this when I have shin problems, but I'll see how they react. Can't wait for Spring!

Otherwise it went fine, just took it at a really easy pace, and it was a beautiful day if I could take my eyes off the ground long enough to appreciate it. Would have gone on a bit longer if the ground was softer.

Sooo tempted to go to jympa but i really cant afford to go every week! So just a teeny bit of core stuff instead, and a bit of a stretch after.

Still a bit heavy maybe but don't really want to lose weight quickly incase i lose muscle too, so continuing eating chocolate :-)

Finally managed to sort out some lectures for this semester, which makes things less stressful, but means the start of getting up and training before breakfast. Icy again and the snow was just as bad as the roads, so taking it slowly. After a month of my shin being sore on the left leg, today i was only aware of a little discomfort in the right, not great but i guess better than the same one getting worse. Fingers crossed for some nice new soft snow later this week though.

Really wanted to go to Linne intervals, but was probs more sensible to stick in the pool for today. Felt like doing something different, so did a 1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1 pyramid with 1 min rest between each interval. Real good training, think i worked harder cos it was something new :-)

Still no skiing, tbh cos i can't wax them properly! Will need to learn how pretty soon, but used the static bike in the gym instead for a change (my hamstrings are really tight from all the aquarunning yesterday and my shins need a rest too). Ended up working quite hard for some of it cos it was so boring to go steadily. Should be ready for some proper training tomorrow :-)

Linne training is all on roads tonight, and i dont think my shin would like it, so did my long run in the pool and will do a shorter run later. Hard work for the second hour, felt really hungry! But stuck it out and stopped for a kanelbulle on the way home.

After another night with not v much sleep and helping one of my flatmates move out, this week has finally caught up with me! Went to Fyrishov but ended up just having a sauna instead of doing intervals in the pool like i planned. But at least after a sleep tonight my batteries should be recharged, and things should be a bit calmer now :-)

Got in half a class before my shoulder dislocated, right in the middle of my favourite bit :-( It went back in easily but was kinda sore, didn't feel like finishing the class was the best thing. I think it was kinda tired from carrying my heavy bag round town all afternoon.

Really have to get it operated on at the end of this season, will trry to sort it out early this time. At least it goes back so easily now that i could probably do it in the middle of a race and keep running, but it's obviously still not great. Hope that's my last injury for at least this week!

Had planned to ski again, but found that i didn't have the right wax so just went to the pool instead. Not too long today, Wednesday is an easier day atm.

Thinking about my shin, am going to keep running a bit, especially now we have a new layer of snow, but shortish runs and no fast running until it feels better again. And plenty of shin exercises and core and leg strength. Really frustrating injuy, but am at least able to do a lot more than this time last year and am loads stronger :-)

Not exactly to plan again! Headlamp died after 2mins, i think the battery is broken. Then slipped on the ice (trying to save my shins a bit by not wearing metal dobs) and hit the back of my head. Was fine to finish the run, just trying to stay on my feet and follow the others, but never really got over the shock of it, felt like i had no energy and was scared of falling over again. So just the 14km loop.

Could feel my shin a bit at the end as well, it doesn't really like running on ice. More snow please!

18 reps. Same hill as last time, but the snow had melted a bit then frozen again, so my times were shorter. A bit slippery on the downhills! Had a nosebleed for some of it but not enough to make me dizzy or anything, think i might have scared a few people with the blood on the way home though...!

Was feeling like i was getting a cold yesterday afternoon, but felt better this morning. Can't make Linne intervals tonight though (fikaspremiären 2011) so ran from home instead. Didn't feel great to start with but better towards the end, think they were just about evenly paced. Some bits in deep snow but mostly on tracks that had been cleared (still a bit of shallow snow though, which made it shin-friendly :-) )

8 x 3min / 1min. Next time will go for 30mins hard running as long as my body is okay!

I was still having problems going up and down stairs from Sunday's training, so just ran easily. Round the 14km, mostly with Mari, Hanna and Anna. My headtorch battery hasn't been charged since before xmas and it died halfway through, slighly glad i didn't have to go through the forest on the 18km though! Lots on big tracks but some bits where the snow was ridic deep, knee-high, where it was really hard to move at all.

Wasn't out quite as long as i wanted to be in the end, so hopefully the full thing next time!

From home. The snow is now over my knees in most places, argh! But found a hill with a little path up, where it was a bit more manageable. 12 x about 1min 20, with the jog back down as a recovery. Feeling mostly back to normal now, just a bit tired still.

There must be a longer hill round here somewhere...!

Haven't really managed to do much all day, oops. This is the second time in two weeks i've had to miss training cos i've been hung over, so time to stop with the parties and concentrate on running now!
