Driving back through Buladelah I had always wanted to climb Alum Mountain (since the rockfaces look spectacular from the town) so today was the day. Crossed bridge over the bypass and parked car at bottom of old tramway road.
iPhone app said 155 m climb and lookout said 200 m above sea level at the top. Used two sticks as trekking poles which made things easier.
Totally unplanned with no map or understanding what tracks there were.
Lots of stunning rockfaces and view out over the township.
Didn't get completely to the "top" as such as could find no trail to get higher.
Distance approximate as app stopped once or twice.
