Green Course at Miami University Natural Areas, set by David Waller. A really interesting course with a few easy but long legs early and late to allow the use of areas on the map that are hard to use. The control picking sections were a little dogleggy, but I stand by my conviction that it's not a big deal, especially for local events. And the legs were cool.
Cold but sunny day. I took three thermos bottles, 2 with green tea and 1 with chicken noodle soup. They really helped me stay warm, so I'll probably do it again. Although I may need to buy a coffee maker. (I used tea because it was all I had, and I didn't want to drink warm water.)
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) (1). I've seen the Swedish-language original, so this seemed like a fairly linear plot. I doubt it would seem that way if you've never seen the other. Violent, but the original was more so. The biggest difference to me was a really minor detail: Near the end, when Lisbeth gets dolled up in fancy clothes, the clothes in the remake just seemed right to me, while in the original, they seemed wrong. I'm guessing this is because of differences between Swedish and American sensibilities about this sort of thing.
