Running 36:29 [4] 4.85 km (7:31 / km)
shoes: Brooks

Katie was tired of the rec center route, so we did a lap of the neighborhood and then ran about 1 mile (one way) to Chipotle (not to eat, though). I started out really draggy and slow, but I felt better than yesterday, and my total walking time today was maybe 3 minutes. The most amazing thing today, though, was that I actually *ran* back from Chipotle. It was the first time in years I was going fast enough on the road to actually consider it "running". It wasn't fast, 5 min/km (~8 min/mile), but I was really enjoying it.

Leg update: My edema was noticeably better today. The depth of the depression is about half what I have seen, and it was much better in the morning, although it has gotten slowly worse all day (which is caused by gravity and is expected). My lower legs even look smaller today.

Running 38:20 [2] 4.18 km (9:10 / km) +75m 8:25 / km
shoes: Brooks

Ran the one-hill route plus a lap around the rec center with Katie. I walked a lot---never felt quite right. When I was running, it was like I was on autopilot or something---it just felt like I was along for the ride.

I've been reading about edema, and it's quite complicated---Lots of chemistry I've forgotten. Some of the potential causes are quite serious, so I might be scheduling another doctor's visit.

Update: I forgot to say I did 5 little intervals on the hill, with short recovery. I was huffing at the top.

Running 36:30 [3] 4.18 km (8:44 / km) +75m 8:01 / km
shoes: Brooks

Ran the one-hill route plus a lap around the rec center with Katie. She had side stitches early on, but she was always slowing down for me, or running back to me so she wouldn't stop. We did four 'intervals' on the hill---They are definitely helping me run up the hill. I'm a lot better on the hill than I was even 3 weeks ago.

My leg is still better, but the edema (which means the skin is liquid-filled---If I push on my shin, my fingers leave dents that take 20-40 seconds to fill back in) is still there. It's almost like there are two things going on. The cellulitis was in my left leg only, but the edema was in both legs (bilateral), but more in the left. I need to do some reading on this, but in the meantime, I'm drinking lots of water and using less salt.
