Running 1:39:00 [4] * 9.2 km (10:46 / km) +120m 10:06 / km
shoes: Brooks

I had a few hours before a meeting, so I thought a long run might be possible. I had just been out in the car, and it wasn't as oppressively hot as the weather report made me think it would be. I set out for about a 1 hour run. I took a Sharon Woods map, since I planned to run to a trail into the park, then around the park a little (only on roads/trails---they don't like orienteering between April and September, for some reason), then back home.
Normally, at 300m or so, I have this intense urge to walk, and today was no exception. What was the exception was me stopping. I just had no energy.
It was a little too hot. I tried to run in the sun, so I could cool off walking in the shade. I walked a lot more than I planned, and my 1 hour run went 40 minutes over.
I did a little map reading while running. I'd pick a start and finish point for a long leg, then plan a route over several glances at the map. It seemed to be useful, and I'll be doing it again.
I didn't wear a HRM, but I did check my heart rate walking up a hill, and it was 150-ish, so I wasn't slacking off (too much).
The heat wasn't oppressive, but it was very uncomfortable, and by the time I finished I was pretty much soaking wet. I walked a lot more than I expected from my short night runs, and I attribute it to either the heat, or that I'm gettting a cold.
It felt really good to go into my meeting with sore legs. I gotta do this more often.
