Note

In the woods yesterday, I saw a vetter's tape near a point I wanted to use. I looked at it, and it only had one initial on it, meaning it hadn't been double-checked. It was initialed by Mike Minium, and later I learned he put it out sometime between 2 and 5pm. My GPS track says I was there at 4:19:22pm. It's just hilarious to me that I can know that.

shoes: Adidas $42 Cleats

Course setting. No comment.
It was so beautiful out today. Just a perfect day. After my Sunday workouts, I was sore all day Monday. Really sore---I was creaking and popping, and sitting at my desk at work caused me to just get stiff. I did have a bit of back pain, but it seems like pretty minor muscle soreness. Today, I've had no pops, no creaks, and almost no soreness, so...Let's hope that's all there is.

ARDF Setting 50:00 [4]

Set a short (3.5 - 4.0 km) 3 transmitter ARDF course this morning at Mt. Airy. We used our new TRO-2 transmitters, and they worked really well. I'm claiming this as level 4 because I set number 2 over 1km down a trail, which I ran way too fast, and then had to slog back out of. Twice. The second time, Dick Arnett did it with me for the training value. We came back a longer way than we had to, so we could climb the Mt. Airy Stone Steps. They weren't what I expected. They were in very poor condition. I think they were built in the 1930s during the New Deal. I went way too fast downhill---my ankles felt pretty unstable several times. Probably my hardest workout this week.

Nice, low-level easy workout, but I was tired from the morning, and when I got home, I had to rest for an hour or so. When I did, I felt some pain in my back from a little tweak while I was running downhill on the trail in Mt. Airy. It feels okay now, but let's see how it is in the morning. I've also got some really sore ripped muscle fibers in my quads. Ouch.
