Bob Frey set a 2m event in Mt Airy Forest today. It was a very nice course. Once again we had transmitter problems: Three didn't come on. After I started, and had a good bearing to 5, 5 failed when I was in the bottom of a *big* reenetrant, and when I climbed out and had a line-of-sight signal, it was off-the-air. And to top it all off, when I was committed to 5, 3 came on---and it was back where I'd already been! After I got 2, 4, and 1, I did go back and get three. It was an awesome day to be in the woods. It was a little chilly at the start, but once you were moving it was just perfect. We really need to get that map updated. The forest is much better than you expect from looking at the map.
