Fun course, mass start - no way I'm fit enough to go with the fast kids, so started out toward the back. Never felt I was running particularly fast, but the heart rate was redlined almost the entire way. No real issues, I mostly had decent route choices, a few were a bit circuitous as I tried to avoid the green in some places I probably didn't need to, and a couple times found myself overrunning my attackpoint - often distracted by other bodies in the vicinity and not paying close enough attention to my own route. But I'd stop, doh... and correct pretty quickly. Nice to have a pair of pretty clean runs for the weekend. Now to lose some weight and find some semblance of fitness..
Gay City Red Course, 6.4km advertised. Nice running, no real issues except overran #7 to the north, but I think the stone pile is actually a bit south of where mapped. Felt like I kept up a good effort all the way around, but never felt fast or energetic out there. I'm sure Tony and other speedy guys will beat my time, but I was leading when I left...
