Haven't ridden much lately and my compadres be getting nervous I won't be able to go the distance next month. So out the door early to put down some miles (majority on dirt) to prove to myself (& them) that I can put out the miles on little training.. Explored the new trailhead and connector between the Airline & Hop River Trail systems in Willimantic, very nice. Can now ride to Colchester for burgers at Harrys Place with almost no road riding. Sweet...

Green course at Harris Center in Hancock, NH. Very techical terrain. No fast running, just slow, and slower... and warm. Took a sharp branch to the head between 1 &2, much blood. Cramping pretty badly by the end. Not one of my better outings...

Getting a little worried as Hayden had been out on a nominal 3.5km course for over four hours (3 hr limit). Even with cramps, went out to walk his course in reverse in case he was down & disabled. No luck. Getting super concerned after 5 hours, but meet director went driving the roads around map and found him shuffling in. He had lost his map partway around and had difficulty getting out of the woods. But back safe and sound d after providing dad with a few more gray hairs...

Wanted to get out on the bike for a change. Two goals, ride for at least an hour, and try to average at least 15mph. Felt good except the glasses were useless at times due to fog building up on them. At least I can see well enough without them to keep the bike on the road. Shame to be missing the team trials this weekend, but not in the budget.
