Surprisingly hilly little recovery run exploring area round new house, first time I've been up W. Craiglockhart Hill. Pretty good view. Achilles tendons seemed to actually feel a bit better for yesterday and didn't start to hurt until I'd been running for 10 mins.

Achilles tendons not liking spikes, but managing to warm up more than a couple of weeks back.

National XC Relays @ Cumbernauld. Slowest trotter present, my slowest time ever at this by some margin but not a total train crash, achilles bad but better than 2 weeks ago. Felt strongish but obvious side effects of extra weight and lack of intervals. Nice weather for it and nice to get out and at least try to run fast.

Left achilles aching after yesterday's rowing intervals but not so bad I can't do them again next week. Did a lot of calf raises and otherwise nothing.

Test of 500m rowing intervals (1' rec), 4 @ ave. 2'00. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. If OK, I might do these through the winter.

Went along to FASIC for a podiatry appointment I had been persuaded to book only to find (after starting to explain my orthotic issues) that actually it was the sports massage I had also been persuaded to book. Was really good actually, focussed on calves and quads, feel quite a bit better for it.

Jog to FASIC, walked back as it was sports massage, had been planning more of a run post podiatrist...
