good sleep and i felt really good yesterday and was able to run around with ruby a bit. tomorrow is the day to get sliced open.

Hike 1:32:00 [3] 4.6 mi (20:00 / mi) +420ft 18:25 / mi

reverse loop around the ranch trails with ruby. legs and body are feeling pretty good. jogged about 30 yards and only pain was in lower ribs. promising.

killer sleep in the tent. moved the generator to the living room and it was so much better. that thing is loud but also produces a ton of heat.

Level 3.5 - 3,330 ft.

body felt pretty good most of day yesterday. i am typically really sore getting out of bed. looking forward to seeing what surgery will do for me.
8 AM

Hike (warm up and cool down) 35:00 [3] 2.0 mi (17:30 / mi)

walking around the hood & YMCA with ruby before and after trainer sesh. killer day out...

Cycling-Trainer 50:00 [3] 16.0 mi (19.2 mph)

trainer pyramid. i give this to a lot of people i coach good sesh when forced to ride indoors. watched a tone of music videos on youtube.

sweating buckets. i think i can build back some minor fitness riding the trainer few days a week, doing long walks with ruby, and body weight stuff for lower body in the gym. It's all gonna depend on how i feel after surgery.

slept awesome once asleep.

a bit of trouble falling asleep last night. just couldn't get comfortable. sore every where. clavicle and ribs just aching a lot. looking forward to surgery on monday... i just wish the could do something for my ribs.

long loop with Maggie and ruby... the wolfpack. fun to just get out the door on the trails.

legs kind of smashed from bodyweight stuff yesterday.

Slept at 0 - no tent. 2 days on one off as M builds up.

really good sleep but getting more uncomfortable laying in bed. weird. hopefully it's part of the healing process. I still can only sleep on back... over it.

collar bone more achy the past few days. not sure if it's the increased activity of just the fact that the bone is broken.
7 AM

Cycling-Trainer 40:00 [3] 12.0 mi (18.0 mph)

it felt good to sweat. first time on the trainer in well over a year. kept it short. nothing crazy because i can't breathe to heavy with the ribs. some minor discomfort sitting on the bike but nothing horrible.

2 x 3-2-1 harder gearing as the intervals got shorter, 5 min ez between sets then
5 x 30 sec on/off
cool down to 40 min.

listened to the new (came out tues) Jimmy Eat World. pretty good and standard JEW.

a little more focus today and think I have a good idea of how to keep the legs in shape and loose. just a lot of body weight stuff.

weird. been a bit more achy the past few days. Lower back/back of ribs starts to really ache after sitting for too long and clavivle/collarbone area is aching constantly now. not sure if i tweaked it or something. can't wait for surgery and to really start healing.

longest walk so far with ruby. mostly on the trails... she want's to charge them but broken body is holding her back. i can't wait to get healthy and walk/jog these loops with her.

damn good sleep... in the tent. took a bit to get used to but not a big deal. Maggie is 12 weeks out of from leadville.. so a lot of time in the tent.

my aches and pains remain the same.

i was going to ride the trainer this morning but slept in and took ruby to the Y to let her run around and play fetch. killer morning. lazy.

we need to start doing this more often.

Maggie and I walked up to wholefoods for dinner with ruby. good to get out in the evening... and damn i am outta shape. labored breathing on a couple steep roads. sweet.

super busy day yesterday after long walk with the pup. a lot of time on my feet running around with Maggie running some errands. i was smashed by 8pm. so good to just move.

fun morning out with the pup. a different loop around the encinitas ranch trails and golf course... it's not running... but better then sitting around and ruby loves it!

kind of a lame sesh but all i can do right now.... and over not doing anything.

3 x 100 situps on ball. i could feel this in ribs a bit but i was going slow and less range of motion.
