Green course at Governor Bebb. A great day to be out, and a very nice fair course set by Mike. There was no hiding of controls -- not even any "tucking away" of controls. Everything seemed fair, and the course was pretty fast. The woods were more open than I anticipated, and even when they greened up, more often than not I was able to contour around on a game trail. Great weather, and a very fun time.
I may have made a route choice mistake to #11, going right, through the pioneer village instead of left, around on the road. My biggest mistake, though was definitely #13, on which I lost several minutes. I intentionally aimed off to the left, and when I hit the stream, I was even further left than I had expected -- just above the junk pile in the stream. No problem -- I knew exactly where I was, and hustled-off to the east to hit the control. But after 120 meters or so, the terrain just looked wrong. I saw no possibility for there being a ditch in this flat relatively open area, so I figured that I had overshot. In truth, I was probably only about 30 meters from the bag. But unfortunately, I doubled-back west maybe 100 meters before relocating and using the open field to the north to attack. Big waste of time, and aggravating given how close I was and how correct I was for most of my approach. Oh well.

Had some business at a nursery in Brookville, so after I was done, I ran out and back on the Garr Hill scenic trail. Nice run; great weather. Given my general lack of running in the past few months, I'm somewhat surprised at how fine I felt.
