Terraining 2:20:00 [3]
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Finally getting back to looking at AP, Monday morn.
With a couple of guests in town, this was not the very best weekend for exercising, and I was sad to miss the Score-O in Tamarack. =(
Looks like it was a full event; I'm impressed that the results are already posted! Deep snow again, huh?
After enough restlessness and a couple of glasses of wine, I was miraculously able to convince my friend Rob to go out on the backwoods run with me! It was great to have someone to share with, after all those times just running with Alice. I'm not sure he thought it was quite so great, but we kept up a fairly good pace, and then later on even went to ASP for a little bit of headlamp hiking/trotting up and down the back hills.

Run 1:50:00 [3] 10.2 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Worked a bit in the morning from home, wifi at home went weird, so I gave up for a while and went for a mid-morning run into Afton State Park with Alice. It was great to be out in the sunlight, finally again.

Run (Afton loop) 54:00 [3] 5.2 mi (10:23 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Back to my old faithful running loop for an evening.... after weeks away.
The shoulders along the coulee are quite narrow by now, with snow piled from the plows. Alice and I jump up on the snow when the cars come winding down....even though I have a theory that a runner with a dog is pretty darn safe. I know there's lots of injury statistics for runners being hit (even intentionally). But NO ONE would ever hit a dog.

Run (Warm-up) 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Ran around the Richfield trail as a warm-up, the nice hard-packed was deceptive for the later run.

Run 49:00 [4] 6.25 km (7:50 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Everyone else went right, I went left......... as we tried to find the best method to hit all the trails around the Lake in Richfield (whatever it was called) on the otnt run.

Mike put out a fun little challenge... seemed simple enough, with a minimum number of trails but still some frustrating choices. Which segments would I run twice? Frustrating to have to go over the same areas, much more fun to see the others running first one way and then the other.

I was very happy to be able to keep up my trot most of the way... and looking back at my route choices I think they were pretty good. I was really wishing the whole time that I had some of the magical anti-snow-slip devices that everyone else must have. Then learned there is no such thing. Shoot.

Terraining (backwoods) 59:00 [3] 4.0 mi (14:45 / mi)

Walk
34 min -out and back
Trot
22 min -out and back
3 min non-terrain
It's finally beginning to feel normal, maybe even fun... to run in the snow.
yay
