Orienteering 45:00 [3] 3.8 km (11:51 / km)

Pittwater Dunes Day 2. I think this course was a little easier than yesterday and l a few more ideas about how to tackle it. I also made much better use of catching features. There were also sandy highways of footprints going into controls. I lost a couple of minutes on the first control but relocated fairly quickly compared with yesterday. I didn't think about my feet at all in the event so can conclude that my new shoes were good. It was wet for most of the night and during the day ( we went down to Port Arthur afterwards) but the rain looks to be clearing for tomorrow.

Orienteering 53:00 [3] 3.21 km (16:31 / km)

Day 1 at Pittwater dunes. This was my sand dune debut, and l'm glad l had it before going to NZ. I heard Tash mention something about 'depression' before l started and by control 5 l had a bad case. I couldn't read the map AT ALL. Nothing! I only finished by wandering aimlessly until l found something. Also my shoes had filled up with sand before the start triangle. Anyway, afterwards, the gorgeous Jools took me round to practice reading the map, and l had an AHA moment!! Then l went and bought new shoes. Unfortunately Hanny was closed, but at least l got something. Wait until tomorrow.

Run 52:20 [3] 6.45 km (8:07 / km)

I always enjoy the annual Scotch street O event. The combination of perfect grass to run on, the little boys organising a public event for the oldies and good running conditions makes for a great event. I had a reasonable run for once and even beat Janine in ( for the first time ever) - shame it was this week and not last! Even the Scotch BBQs were good afterwards (they kindly let us stay and we were able to BBQ to the dulcet tones of the Scotch bagpipes band).

Run 38:15 [3] 5.4 km (7:05 / km)

I've had a big couple of days and nights finishing my report. I finished at lunchtime yesterday. Then I got sent another major report that required a full edit by this morning. So I had a couple of coffees to keep awake and went at it until 11pm last night. But the coffees kept me awake to 3:00am. Needless to say I am a bit tired today and my knee still feels tweaky from the weekend (it didn't like the climbs) but staggered around Blackburn lake and creek lands regardless.
I'm looking forward to the weekend at Pittwater, but am wondering what to wear. I don't want to get caught out in the full suit of armour when everyone else is running around in shorts (like last weekend).
