Still feeling somewhat seized up from yesterday, I got out this morning early to try and get some kms in for this weekend. Jogged very slowly around Blackburn. Terribly slow - but kept moving.
Knee wasn't quite right (feels a bit out). Warmed up about 4 kms into the run (that's probably the amount of warmup I should have done yesterday), then warmed down around 7 kms.
Sprint into Spring at Deakin Uni. I haven't run on this map before and found it terribly confusing. Not one of my better efforts.
Lessons learnt:
- more warm up required - I got very lactic very quickly
- stay out of the mess of small lanes and alleys - I should have relocated out to the main tracks for almost every route choice but instead floundered around in the small stuff
- learn about different layers - more confusion.
I don't understand how anyone who attends this uni ever makes it to class!
Street O at Ferntree Gully. The map had 10m contours and was very steep. The east part, around the quarry area was quite intricate, with complicated stairways and paths, and could potentiakky make a good sprint area. Other parts had a lot of trees and were pretty. My wounds are healing but l still have a lump on my chin. Luckily you can't really see it.
