Orienteering 1:20:00 [3] 5.46 km (14:39 / km)

Bendigo ToDay. The event was the usual well organised Jymbo event. I got up at 4.00 to get there and was home by 12.00.

But overall I was NOT HAPPY. I headed off OK until I picked a risky route between 3-4 (across the gullies instead of around by the track). Only I lost count of the gullies and got completely lost. I think I overshot the control by some considerable extent. I couldn't relocate (possibly under the control descriptions). I wandered around for a while before backtracking - eventually finding it. Motivation was severely low and I couldn't finish. I would have been much better taking the safe track option. Lesson no 2578 (thereabouts) learnt.

Everyone else had a great day. I was gald to be out in the bush but a bit cross at myself for being so hopeless.

Run 35:00 [3] 4.7 km (7:27 / km)

Its a very hot day. I am now in residence in Blackburn - which seems to be the centre of street orienteering in Melbourne - and discovered the Saturday morning training event started 100 meters away from home - so there was no excuse. I got a bit of a twinge at 4.7 kms so decided to walk from there - making sure I stretched when I got home.

Walk 20:00 [2] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

The big move to Blackburn.

Swim 35 [3] 1.0 km (35 / km)

Swim in the Ringwood pool - which is closed most of the week due to school swimming sports. The rest of the day was spent moving mulch and planting plants. Heathmont now looks quite respectable and will go on sale soon.
