Walk 1:28:00 [2] 8.5 km (10:21 / km)

I went to Shepparton today with Peter and we decided to explore an area of forest along the river to the north. We got a map at the Information Centre and it showed a bridge called Jordan's Bridge downstrean (north) and we though we would do a circuit.

I jogged for 4.5 km (foot taped up even more than before) before overheating (it was about 33 degrees and humid) and then walked. The planned circuit was about 8 kms but when we got to 'Jordan's Bridge' - there was no bridge. We backtracked - severely dehydrated in the heat. When I looked at the map on our return I saw a tiny note in the corner - 'proposed bridge'! No wonder we couldn't find it.

On our return we noted my car had been visited by the police arson squad - with a note indicating that this was an fire prone area and if there was a fire then we would be suspects!

Swim 36:00 [3] 1.0 km (36:00 / km)

I've come back to Benalla for a couple of days. I went for a swim in the pool. My back and knee have been bothering me but it is surprising how quickly a swim will stretch them out. There was a carnival on in the outdoor pool today so patronage was up.

The rest of the day was spent heavy gardening. I now own 3 semi-derelict looking properties. At least this one now looks a little more respectable. One of my grapevines has dies so I've pulled that down and wont be replacing it - it is just too much work!

Walk 57:00 [3] 6.45 km (8:50 / km)

Street-O score event at Bellbird Dell. I started off jogging but overall my knee and foot were sore and I dropped back to walking. I selected to go up through the Dell at first and circle around to the east. Normally I take a southern and then western route on this map. The Dell controls were a little technical and I found some delight in seeing the 'hares' race past them and disappear from sight while the 'tortoise' (me) found them easily. It was a lovely area and I decided to forego the time limit and enjoy the course. Result - 15 minutes late.
