Run 44:13 [4] 6.0 km (7:22 / km)

Run around the tracks and hillsides near Yarran Dheran. I'm actually starting to feel quite strong again and ran up most of the hills.

It hasn't been my week for running into non-law abiding persons. Tues and Wed I experienced smokers on the train. I had to stay back late on Thursday (no exercise) and, coming down the ramp at Blackburn, a man smashed a bottle into the wall right beside me.

On Friday I had to stay late again (again no exercise) and when I got home to Heathmont found crowds of rough looking teenage boys carrying tins and bottles towards my house. And they were all heading into the house opposite my place! Oh no, I thought, Cory (infamous Victorian party organiser who posted his party on Facebook and subsequently nearly demolished the whole street) has moved into my street! There was a note in my letter box telling me that it was an 18th birthday party that night and the police would keep the party safe! Well they kept the party safe but not the street!

By 10 pm the street was full of youths and there were 4 car loads of policemen trying to keep order!. From my window I could see the grog all being stored in the bushes in my front yard. After mounting a post outside the party house for about an hour and clearing the crowds away, the police left. But the crowds (who had been hiding in the neighbouring gardens) all came out again and started again - yelling, screaming and running around in my garden. The police came back agin and, as they arrived, the youths all dived over the fences into neighbouring gardens. The police did a proper clearout of all the neighbouring gardens with torches this time. By midnight peace ruled and I went to bed.

I got my revenge at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning. My friend Peter from Benalla came down to help with the gardening and we got the chainsaw going in the fromt garden at 8.00am!

Run 46:30 [3] 6.4 km (7:16 / km)

Street-O at Mooroolbark - a far outer eastern suburb (though not as far as Packenham). The event started in a really nice park and the course was reasonably flat to undulating. There was plenty of route choice at the start and I might have gained a little time here. I started slowly (knee a little sore) but started to grow in strength throughout the run and finished strongly, resoundly beating one of my main competitors in course C.

Greatest observation of the past few hot days. The train seems to have been full of the dregs of society (where are all the rail police when you need them). For the past two days there have been people smoking between the carriages on the train - including on a Total Fire Ban Day.
