Walk/jog 1:45:00 [3] 10.5 km (10:00 / km)

Jog / walk around some steep bush tracks between Warranbayne and Boho South. We walked up the steep hills and ran down. It was gorgeous in the bush, with beautiful bush scents. This was followed by a picnic at a beautiful babbling stream near Boho South. Although the highways and towns around here are packed with cars, we have only seen two today, as they all pass this area by. I am reminded that this really is God's own country and l can see why many rogainers (me included) say it is the best rogaining country in Victoria.

Saturday Dec 30, 2017 #

9 AM

Run 39:53 [3] 5.67 km (7:02 / km)

Run around Benalla lake and gardens. I felt a bit more alive today as it was a bit cooler after a succession of hot and humid days. It certainly is tourist season here - the lake was busy with runners, walkers, pushers, dogs (l only fell over one), boats, swimmers and a light plane overhead. Most of my neighbours have visitors and the family of 5 arrives today to stay with me for a few days.

Wednesday Dec 27, 2017 #

9 AM

Walk 40:00 [3] 4.0 km (10:00 / km)

Walk around Beleura Hill at Mornington. It was going to be a hot day
10 AM

Tennis 30:00 [3]

Tennis with my sister. It was hot and neither of us was any good.
7 PM

Walk/jog 1:04:00 [3] 7.0 km (9:09 / km)

Street O at Deepdene. It was a lovely map but the evening was hot and humid, and the course tough. I might sound a bit ungracious, but 7km was too far for C course on such an evening. I jogged half and then gave into the heat and my sore knee and walked the rest. I wasn't super impressed by the control that looked to be on Mont Albert Rd but was in fact on the rail trail below and inaccessible from the road. I didn't feel like being tricked, as it was so hot.

Tuesday Dec 26, 2017 #

Walk 47:00 [3] 5.0 km (9:24 / km)

I started off running down Beleura Hill at Mornington but l hadn't worn a hat, it was very glary and l started to get a headache. I walked the rest and was glad to get home. Knee was tweaky too, so maybe l had was just tired...

Monday Dec 25, 2017 #

Note

Merry Christmas to all my AP favourites. Wishing you all much happiness, good health (no injuries) and lots of fun and adventures in the bush in 2018.

Sunday Dec 24, 2017 #

8 AM

Run 38:54 [3] 5.4 km (7:12 / km)

Run around Benalla lake and gardens. Lots of 3 (or maybe 4) generation family groups out also enjoying a walk.

Saturday Dec 23, 2017 #

10 AM

Run 40:59 [3] 5.6 km (7:19 / km)

Run around the river at Shepparton. Feeling the effect of too much eating (already).

Friday Dec 22, 2017 #

8 AM

Run 39:00 [3] 5.5 km (7:05 / km)

Run around Benalla lake and gardens before the day heated up too much (although it was pretty warm even then). Knee was quite tweaky, but at least new shoes didn't hurt. Now for a big day of gardening. Everyone, including the council, is out cleaning up after the storm.

Wednesday Dec 20, 2017 #

Run 45:55 [3] 6.2 km (7:24 / km)

Street O at Highbury Hill. I had new shoes and the soles of my feet were burning. Hopefully the shoes will wear in soon. Then l went to the BKV meeting, which also happened to include pizza.

Monday Dec 18, 2017 #

9 AM

Run 39:35 [3] 5.5 km (7:12 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands. I left it a bit late and it was starting to warm up. I felt a bit weary as l worked nearly all weekend, including late last night after returning from Benalla, but l think l have finally caught up and things are starting to look a bit more under control.

Saturday Dec 16, 2017 #

10 AM

Run 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)

Slow jog around the bike tracks of Wangaratta, before going Christmas shopping. It was pretty warm by the end and l appreciated the coffee by the river afterwards.

Friday Dec 15, 2017 #

10 AM

Run 38:11 [3] 5.4 km (7:04 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands on the normal route. It a was a bit later than usual and the day was starting to warm up. Knee is starting to be a bit tweaky a bit too often, which is a little concerning.
I watched my god daughter's ballet concert last night. The little girls (especially the 4yr olds) looked so cute in their tutus but l wouldn't be sending in the Australian Ballet talent squad just yet. A very entertaining evening.

Wednesday Dec 13, 2017 #

Walk/jog 55:19 [3] 6.25 km (8:51 / km)

Street O at Bayswater. It was a really warm evening, but l thought my Benalla training would prove it's worth, which it did until the half way mark and then a combination of sore knee and overheating made me fade quickly. I got a man watering his garden to hose me down on the way back, which he wasn't keen to do, and that helped a bit.

Monday Dec 11, 2017 #

9 AM

Run 49:46 [3] 7.0 km (7:07 / km)

Run around Blackburn creeklands and lake, in the reverse direction to normal and taking in a few more hills. It was the time of day for well-groomed ladies to take well-groomed dogs for a walk. I must have looked especially evil in my all-black un-groomed puffy state as the number of greetings was substantially reduced from normal. Even a very cute family of ducklings scurried into the grass to get away from me.

Saturday Dec 9, 2017 #

Run 40:10 [3] 5.65 km (7:07 / km)

Street O training run from the Eaglemont Tennis Club, west along the river track and the back through the streets and parks. I hadn't run in this area before and thought it was the nicest street O l had been on, even though unofficial. I liked a sign on one seat l passed 'If it's going to be, then it's up to me'.

Friday Dec 8, 2017 #

Run 26:25 [3] 3.62 km (7:18 / km)

Run around Blackburn lake and creeklands. The lake was well up after the recent rains and covered the track in places, and the wetlands could now live up to their name. Unfortunately my knee hurt and l felt very low on energy, so cut it short and walked back. I'm a bit piled up with work at the moment - all the jobs people have to finish before Christmas (because that's when the world ends, apparently) and that they've had for ages but now can't finish and have outsourced to me.

Wednesday Dec 6, 2017 #

Run 44:52 [3] 5.86 km (7:39 / km)

Street O at Blackburn South. My knee hurt for the first two thirds and then came good. Perfect weather for a run.

Tuesday Dec 5, 2017 #

10 AM

Run 37:40 [3] 5.3 km (7:06 / km)

I was totally wiped out and my mind was running overtime yesterday trying to sort my thoughts after the OA conference, so nothing constructive happened. But a run today, around Benalla lake and gardens, helped me reach greater clarity and hopefully some efficiency in completing the tasks ahead.
No floods in Benalla and a gorgeous day.

Saturday Dec 2, 2017 #

Run 38:56 [3] 4.7 km (8:17 / km)

Street orienteering at the AIS in Canberra after Day 1 of the OA conference. I had a bit of trouble reading aspects of the map and struggled to run after a full day's conferencing, but otherwise good.
