Rogaining 5:55:00 [3] 22.0 km (16:08 / km)
(sick)

Chewton 6-hour, with Ian Herbert. A well attended event, with scouts, army cadets, police search and rescue, and a whole lot of triathletes/adventure runners using it as training. It was pretty much a runners course, which suited the triathletes, but didn't suit me as l was still sick. I pretty much dragged the chain, complaining about my cold, lack of energy, signs of impending blisters and a sore hammy from yesterdays fall. Then, after about 5 hours, l started to feel better and finished comfortably, although l am a bit sore now. Great event in a fabulous area, with lots of gold mining relics. The weather was also nice.

Orienteering 1:19:00 [3] 5.4 km (14:38 / km)
(sick)

Bendigo Saturday event at Mt Kooyoora. The event was near a former work colleague's winery, so l called in there first and stocked up. In the event, l missed two controls, took a wrong bearing and then fell heavily and my leg cramped. It wasn't my day and l wasn't really physically up to it. However, l was glad to be in Mt Kooyoora bush and also to see friends. Just a little worried about rogaining tomorrow.

Run 22:00 [3] 3.0 km (7:20 / km)
(sick)

Attempt to run - take 2. Marginally further than Wed, but had several stops and had to drag myself home. Stayed in the sun as much as possible. Otherwise l feel OK.

Run 20:11 [3] 2.7 km (7:29 / km)
(sick)

Jog around Blackburn, but there was no going any further or faster than this. It did help to clear the airways a little. Hopefully it has helped and not hindered.

Walk 52:25 [3] 4.8 km (10:55 / km)
(sick)

Walk around Blackburn. I'm feeling a lot better and should be good for the weekend. It was school knockoff time, and it had me reminiscing my primary school days in Blackburn, in particular about a very glamorous Mrs Charmain Brent, resplendent with a red beehive hairdo and driving a silver (rare in those days) sportscar, collecting her 2 children from my school. She wasn't like the other mothers and l remember people wondering 'where did she get the money?'

Walk 1:10:00 [3] 6.7 km (10:27 / km)
(sick)

After spending yesterday on the couch feeling miserable with a cold, watching DVDs (l've only done this twice in my life - the last time was the day after my arthroscope), l thought l had better make some effort to move today. I walked to China (Box Hill shopping centre) and back.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

I have the lurgy. Not the flu, but a head cold. The weather is so miserable today, staying inside might be a good thing.
I am hoping to be better for Mt Kooyoora and a rogaine next weekend.

Walk 37:30 [3] 4.1 km (9:09 / km)
(injured)

This started as a run, but my back was sore, so l walked. Benalla lake. Very cold, miserable day.

Monday Jun 11, 2018 #

11 AM

Run 1:14:20 [3] 10.01 km (7:26 / km)

Run around Wangaratta with Peter. Slow and steady - a bit of a recovery following a long weekend with 4 house guests (including two children). Everyone in Benalla seems to have had house guests this weekend.
I haven't felt like running since last weekend's MTBO, which left me with a slightly sore back, but l finally felt up to it today.

Sunday Jun 3, 2018 #

MTBO 2:44:00 [3] 23.45 km (7:00 / km)

Vic Long Champs. I finished.

Saturday Jun 2, 2018 #

MTBO 1:24:00 [3] 11.73 km (7:10 / km)

Vic Middle Champs at Creswick. A nice day out with the Big Orange (complete with new knobbly tyres, after the other ones were found to be full of thorns). 2nd in W50 - 2 mins behind 1st. Lots of mud, big puddles and cliffs. I walked quite a bit, in the interest of self preservation. Unfortunately went to one control out of order. Great day.

Friday Jun 1, 2018 #

Run 24:55 [3] 3.6 km (6:55 / km)

Short mid morning jog around Blackburn creeklands, in the sun.
